As Executive Vice President of the Capital Markets group at Walker & Dunlop, Jim Cope leads the day-to-day operations of his Capital Markets team in Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago.
He has completed more than 600 transactions during his career with more than 100 sources of capital, including more than 50 life insurance companies, and is playing a role in the expansion of the structured finance division of the Capital Markets group.
Cope is also responsible for increasing the group’s focus on funding affordable housing options and creating new opportunities for his team.
He is a member of the MBA, the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, the Young Presidents Organization, and the NAIOP. He also places great importance on giving back to his community as an active volunteer for Hebron House in Waukesha.
His colleagues have noted that he leads by example and is generous with his resources, taking the time to help others no matter how busy his schedule is.
